Cold wash, inside out, tumble low. Heat is what kills a loopback fleece: it mats the interior loops and shortens the body. Line drying is better if you have the space.

Wool does not need washing nearly as often as people wash it. Air it overnight and brush it. When it does need cleaning, use a cool wool cycle and dry it flat, never hung, or the shoulders will grow.

Never machine wash waxed cotton. Wipe it with a damp cloth and let it dry away from direct heat. Re-wax about every second winter if you wear it daily, less if you do not.

Soak once in cold water before the first wear to let it shrink. After that, wash rarely and inside out. Creasing is the point.
